TOO MUCH

Doyle's problem is he cares, too much.

An established relationship story.

Written: September 2007. Word count: 100.

Ray cares.

He cares too much.

He cares too much about everything.

Blames himself for the invention of gunpowder.

Blames himself for all the wrongs.

Tried to tell him not to.

Tried to teach him how not to care. Least not so much.

In the end though, I didn't try too hard.

Why?

Because if Ray didn't care like he does, wasn't the caring man he was, well . . .

Well, he wouldn't be my Ray, would he?

And he is. Mine.

And I want to keep him that way.

Over-caring; sarcastic; loving; irascible; soft-hearted; temperamental; generous; irritable; altogether dichotomous.

My Ray.
