Illya considers the sky.

An established relationship story.

Written: December 2007. Word count: 150.

When he first came to America he thought the sky was crowded.

Crowded in a way it had not been in his homeland.

But as the years went by he grew used to seeing more than just stars in the sky.

As the years went by he also grew used to being partnered with Napoleon Solo.

And as he grew used to the partnership, something else began to infiltrate his senses: friendship, companionship and finally, and unexpectedly, love.

One night he came home to the apartment he and his partner, his lover, now shared, and found his partner, his lover, in bed with a woman.

He did not stop to say anything.

He simply walked out.

Walked out into the street.

Walked out into the night.

Walked out into the dark.

Now, for the first time in more than a decade he saw that the sky, like himself, was empty.

Ceaseless is the sequel to this story.
