THE COST

Buffy discovers the reason why Angel's hair always looked so perfect.
An established relationship story.

The fight over, Buffy turned to look at her boyfriend. "Angel! Your hair!" The words were out before she could stop herself.

Breathing harshly, it took Angel a moment or two to say, "What about it?"

"It's . . ." Buffy trailed off, not quite knowing what to say. "Untidy," she finally managed.

Angel pushed his hands through it. "I knew there'd be a cost."

"Cost?"

"Of becoming human. Apparently The PTB didn't like their hero with anything less than perfect hair. I never had to bother with it."

Buffy smiled and ran into his arm. "I did always wonder." She kissed him.
