Ducky hummed as he took off his white coat and put on his jacket. He tidied his hair, straightened his bowtie and glanced at his watch. It was almost three o'clock.

"I'll be back in a little while, Jimmy."

"If there's something you need fetching, Doctor, I'm quite happy to get it for you." Jimmy beamed.

Ducky smiled. "That's a very kind offer, Jimmy, thank you. However, nothing needs fetching. You just finish sewing up Mr. Dale; I'll be back shortly." He hurried towards the doors.

"Yes, Doctor." Jimmy picked up the needle and returned to the cadaver. "I wish I knew where he went every day," he said to the silent body. "It's always the same time, just before three o'clock. And he always tidies himself up, not that he needs to, Dr. Mallard is always tidy. If I didn't know better, I'd think he was meeting someone." He sighed as he continued his task.

Outside Autopsy Ducky waited for the elevator. He heard it arrive; a quick glance at his watch told him it was exactly three o'clock. As the doors opened, he began to tingle with expectation.

He slipped inside and the doors closed. Seconds later he was pulled into an embrace. The elevator began to move; after a moment Ducky's companion reached behind him and pushed the emergency stop button.

"Now. Come here and let me kiss you." Ducky was tugged even nearer to a firm, strong body and thoroughly kissed.

When they finally broke away, Ducky sighed with pleasure and moved back just far enough to gaze upwards. "Ah, Jethro," he said, putting one hand on Jethro's cheek and stroking it. "This really is my favorite time of the day. It was such a good idea of yours to have a daily meeting in your office."

Jethro smiled. "I do have a good idea from time to time he said. Got another one just now, in fact."

"Have you now?" Ducky asked, already tipping his head back for a second kiss.

When their relationship had developed from intimate friends into lovers, they'd agreed that to begin with they wouldn't, despite rarely spending a night apart, share a home. But the time between the parting kiss in the morning and the greeting one in the evening was far too long. Thus, Jethro had come up with the idea that they should meet each afternoon in the elevator at three o'clock.

After a few more minutes, Ducky reluctantly moved out of Jethro's arms. "It is time we returned to our respective areas, my dear," he said.

Jethro sighed and leaned across Ducky to again press the button, pausing to lightly kiss Ducky's lips again. "Guess you're right, Duck."

"Until tonight then," Ducky said, as the elevator doors once again opened on the area outside Autopsy.

"You bet," Jethro said, as the doors closed and he was whisked away.

Ducky allowed himself another second or two before, smiling to himself, he returned to Autopsy, Jimmy and Mr. Dale.
