"Well, Tobias, we going to do this then, or not?"

"Ah, gee, Jethro, and I thought romance was dead."

"How long have you known me for?"

"Best part of ten years, give or take."

"Right."

"And what's that meant to mean?"

"Damn it, Tobias. You know me. You know me better than anyone. And what you don't know personally about me our shared ex-wife no doubt told you."

"Do you even like me, Jethro?"

"What do you think?"

"Do you want the truth?"

"Make a change."

"Sometimes I don't know. Sometimes I wonder if . . ."

"Look, Tobias, if you're waiting for a declaration of love, forget it."

"Maybe we should just forget the whole thing."

"You want that?"

"Do you?"

"And I thought you'd be different."

"Different? Different how?"

"Didn't think you needed pretty words and all that crap. You'll be wanting flowers next."

"I don't. I just want to know if you -"

"That tell you?"

"Yeah. Yeah, Jethro, I guess it does."

"Good. Now I'm going to bed. Come or don't. It's all the same to me."

"Is it?"

"What do you think, Tobias?"

"That I had better lock the front door."

"Yeah. You do that, Tobias. You do that."
