He had told her that her job as liaison officer was over.

He had told her that she was going home.

But she no longer knows where home is.

For most of her life it had been simple: home was Israel; home was Mossad; home was her father; home was Ari.

But that does not apply any longer.

Ari is dead.

Her father is estranged from her.

Mossad are wary of her; they think she has got to close to NCIS.

Israel is just country.

She had heard the saying 'home is where the heart is' but had never truly understood it. Now she does.

Washington is her home; NCIS is her home; Gibbs and his team are her home. Because that is where her heart is.

And Director Vance has taken all of those from her.

Without her job as liaison officer she will not be allowed to remain in America. Not even Gibbs can make the impossible possible. No matter how much he might bend, even break, the law, even he, when it comes down to law outside of his control, is governed by it.

She is going home.

Except she is not.

Because she already is home.
