It's Valentine's Day and Tony has an out of the ordinary present for Ziva.

An established relationship story.

Written: August 2009. Word count: 500.

He arrived at Ziva's apartment before she left for the office.

"Tony? Is something wrong?"

"No. I just came to bring you your Valentine's Day present."

She frowned. "But we agreed no gifts."

"No, Ziva. What we agreed, what you made me agree to, was no sappy gifts." He ignored the bouquet of red roses that'd be on her desk.

She looked at him, her head slightly on one side. Finally, she asked, "Well, where is it?"

"Let me come in and I'll show you."

"Tony, if this is just an excuse . . . You know we cannot be late for work again. Gibbs made it quite clear -"

"It's all right, Ziva. We won't be late. Well, we will if you insist on standing here arguing about it." He smiled and gave her the look he knew almost always got him his own way; well sometimes; well occasionally.

This was one of the occasions as, after another second or two, she moved back and let him enter.

"Well?" she demanded, once he shut the door.

He put his hand into his jacket pocket and pulled out the small, roundish object, wrapped in plain burgundy paper, and handed it to her. "Happy Valentine's Day, Ziva," he said, kissing her cheek before she could move away.

She turned it over in her hands before finally opening it, looking in surprise at what she held. "What is it?"

"A yo-yo."

"A what?"

"A yo-yo."

She frowned and shook her head. "But what does it do?" she asked, turning the deep red yo-yo with the slightly darker red heart on it over in her hand.

"It doesn't do anything. Not by itself. Here." He took it from her hand and demonstrated. He was good and he knew it; in fact it wouldn't be immodest to say that he was very good. High School Yo-Yo Champion three years running. What he couldn't do with a yo-yo wasn't worth doing. "Here," he said. "You try."

She did. The yo-yo reached the bottom of its string and just dangled there. She frowned, let him wind it back up for her and tried again. And again. And again. Until after ten attempts, she threw her hands up in the air. "There is no point to this," she said. "I am going to finish getting ready for work."

He caught her arm. "One more try. I'll help you." And before she could argue, he put his arms around her from behind, taking her right hand in his and -

The yo-yo fell to the floor, unnoticed as she turned in his arms and put her mouth on his.

They were only thirty minutes late that day. The Gods must have been looking out for them as McGee announced Ducky's Morgan wouldn't start and Gibbs had gone to collect him.

As he hastily put his gun away and settled down to view his favorite porn sites before the boss returned, Tony decided he'd have a lot of fun teaching Ziva how to yo-yo.
