Tony and Ziva shouldn't be doing what they're doing, but they can't stop.

A DiNozzo/Ziva established relationship story.

Written: July 2009. Word count: 300.

She pulls herself out of his arms, wincing slightly as her hair is still tangled around his fingers. "Tony," she says, breathing heavily from the almost brutal kiss. "We should not be doing this. Gibbs would not -"

But he pulls her back against him and once more puts his mouth on hers, effectively silencing her objections. This time she does not try to break away, try to fight it, try to fight him; this time she wraps her own arms back around him and meets the kiss, parting his lips beneath his and letting him plunder her mouth with his tongue.

The next time they break apart it is mutual, and they both hold onto one another, fighting for breath, gazing at one another, eyes dark with passion, lips red and swollen from constant kisses. "Why?" she asks. "Why do we keep doing this?"

He holds her gaze. "Because we can't stop," he says simply, his tone tinged with self-deprecation. He must have seen something in her face because he asks softly, "Can you stop, Ziva? Can you? Can you walk away from me? Walk away from us? Can you?"

Every part of her screams at her to say 'yes'. But she cannot. She cannot stop. She cannot walk away from Anthony DiNozzo. Gibbs's Rule #12 notwithstanding, she cannot, she will not end something that is so good.

It cannot end happily, of that she is certain. But she has never been one for looking into the future. The future is now. The future is here. And that means Tony and her.

She shakes her head. "No," she says. "And nor do I wish to." And with those words she puts her mouth onto Tony's for another long, passionate kiss, before taking his hand and leading him into his bedroom.
