THE SQUAD ROOM

Abby was Tim's weakness. He knew that; he's always known it. She always had been his weakness and she always would be. And now they were back together and all but living together, she was even more his weakness.

He wanted to spend as much time with her as possible. It wasn't that he wanted to kiss her or hug her all of the time; he just wanted to be in her company. He was quite content to spend his time in his lab; as such he kept 'inventing' reasons for popping down to see her.

It was mid-morning and he was sitting at his desk working on his computer and trying to think of an excuse, which wouldn’t sound like an excuse, to go down to Abby's lab, when Gibbs called to him. "McGee."

Tim looked at Gibbs. "Yes, boss?"

"Need you and Abby to do your thing and find Dobbler's ISB-whatsit."

"ISP. His Internet Service Provider?" Tim asked, already standing up.

Gibbs nodded. "Whatever. Just do whatever you do and find it. Well, what are you waiting for?" he demanded, frowning at Tim who was still standing behind his desk.

"Er, nothing, boss." Tim said, deciding not to ask Gibbs why he was sending him down to Abby's lab to work on something he could quite easily do on his own computer and something that didn't need two people anyway.

ABBY'S LAB

"Hey, Abby," he called over the blast of music.

"Timmy!" she spun round on her stool, jumped down and hurried across the room to enfold him in a typically Abby-hug. "Missed you," she said, grabbing the Caf-Pow he'd brought with him.

"You mean you missed the Caf-Pows," he said, smiling at her and hoping he didn't look as sappy a fool as he felt. How could anyone make another person so happy just by being themselves? He didn't know; he just hoped the feeling never went away.

"So what can I do for you, Timmy? Have you brought me something exciting?"

"Apart from the Caf-Pow, you mean?"

"Apart from the Caf-Pow - and you of course," she beamed and tossed her pigtails, as she spun round.

"Gibbs wants us to trace Dobbler's ISP," Tim said, heading for the computer that had become 'his'.

Abby paused mid-drink, let the straw slip from her mouth and looked at him. "And?" she demanded.

Tim shrugged. "And nothing. That was it."

Abby frowned. "But it's -"

"I know."

"It doesn't take two -"

"I know."

"You don't think, Gibbs is -"

"No. He wouldn't. Would he?"

Abby just stared at Tim and smiled her pussy-cat smile. Then she linked her arm through his and sat down on the stool next to him. "Gibbs always has a reason for what he does. We may not know that reason, but he always has one. And what Gibbs asks for -"

"Tells us to do."

"Gibbs gets. One ISP coming up."

THE SQUAD ROOM

Gibbs shook his head ruefully and silently laughed at himself. It was no good Abby's happiness was his weakness.
