I will never forget her scent: gentle, feminine, cold, dark.

 

Dark.

 

Darkness.

 

That is what I smell whenever I think of Victoria.

 

Darkness. Bitterness. Evilness.

 

I try not to think of her too often.

 

Ray's scent is completely different: intense, masculine, warm, light.

 

Light.

 

Lightness.

 

That is what I smell whenever I think of Ray.

 

Lightness. Sweetness. Goodness.

 

I think of him often.

 

Ray is all that is good in my life. All that is right. All that is clean. All that is worthy.

 

Animals distinguish by scent.

 

I do it too.

 

Between Ray and Victoria there is no comparison.
