COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE

Fraser is temporarily blind.
An established relationship story.

When Benny temporarily lost his sight it was bad.
But it could have been worse.
Much worse.
A hell of a lot worse.
It could have been worse because Benny has other ways of seeing.
He doesn't just 'see' with his eyes.
Not like most people. Not like me.
He also 'sees' with his nose and with his mouth.
I've always teased him about the way he smells or tastes things.
But for those few weeks, I was just grateful that he did.
It meant he could still function, in a way I couldn't have done.
He could still 'see'.
